PRE-PROFESSIONAL PROGRAM

Step into the world of professional dance with WCDC’s exclusive Pre-Professional Program—an exclusive opportunity to train, collaborate, and perform alongside company members in a stunning outdoor performance in Provo Canyon.

Audition for the chance to dance with WCDC in this one-of-a-kind experience! Advanced dancers ages 16-19 can submit a free video audition by July 16, 2025, showcasing their technique and artistry. Selected dancers will train with company members, rehearse in a professional setting, and take the stage for an unforgettable performance in Provo Canyon.

• Professional audition feedback

• Network opportunities with local professionals

• Experience rehearsing in a company setting

• Opportunities to learn from local dance professionals about work ethic, rehearsal etiquette, creative process, collaboration, and more

• Collaboration with dance professionals to help create or restage work, guided by company choreographers

• Preview of career options available in the dance industry

• Valuable resume experience

• Performance experience alongside professional company members

• Professional photos and video of the performance for use in dancer’s portfolio

• Entry for the dancer plus 1 additional guest to WCDC’s fundraising event/dinner at Conrad Ranch in Provo Canyon

program details & requirements

Age Requirements: Dancer must be 16-19 years of age on August 16, 2025
Rehearsals: August 16th and 23rd from 12:30-4:30 PM at SMASH Dance Academy (188 W River Park Drive, Provo)
Performance: Tuesday, August 26 at Conrad Ranch in Provo Canyon (arrive at 6:00 PM for spacing rehearsal, perform at 7:30 PM)

• Brief dance experience summary

• Guardian information (if under 18)

• Two video clips (from the last six months):

  • Clip 1: Approximately one minute of lyrical or ballet technique/performance

  • Clip 2: Approximately one minute of contemporary or modern technique/performance
